Of course, YouTube isn't the best place to learn about a people, heck it's not the best place to learn anything and certainly not the best place to have this kind of discussion. I KNOW that there are differences in the world in culture, creed, and values. I was just expressing (through hyperbole) how unusual I find their culture. Currently I'm at a position where they continue to seem increasingly strange. But I know that they have some things done better than Americans (my culture) do.

Doesn't really matter if you understand the Japanese or not. I'm sure there are idiosyncracies about your country they will never understand... especially children's programming. If you don't understandt the Japanese, I suggest learning about them someplace other than YouTube.

not bad :) yeag I d do anything too to get out of dropping the soap or having the soap dropped for me in jail. just hard to imagine some of them are muderers. perhaps some even are guilty by 276 degrees of necrophilia with dead horses who knows.

Hahaha, all right. xD I believe the original idea for the dances though was to put all their energy into something better than drugs/crime or something like that? I'm not sure.

Mostly because of the number of youtube videos of these inmates doing large group dances. I'm finding it difficult to figure a good reason why.... I mean I can postulate some basic theories but each one of them isn't quite enough... So I'm gonna leave it be. I stand by what I said about the Japanese except it's now down to about 346 though. They weird me out. (NOTE TO THOSE WHO WILL GET UNNECESSARILY OFFENDED: This isn't about the Japanese race but their culture. Their culture is weird.)

The original Algorithm March is from a Japanese children's show. [I'm kind of curious as to why Filipinos confuse you XD;;]

The song is from a Japanese children's television series. But the video is the dancing prisioners from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC)Cebu, Philippines.

Well my bad, that's not really fair of me to immediately assume Japan, but it's not without reason. Did the original Algorithm March originate in the Philippines as well? My guess is not but I'm honestly not sure. Though even if not, Filipinos sure confuse me now. Though I admit the number of reasons isn't quite so high as for the Japanese.

This is one of the 347 reasons while I'll never understand the Japanese.
