Well, I myself wasn't looking for a human being, just someone who wouldn't make me gag. By the end of the movie, I just wanted someone worse to come along and massacre all three of these disgusting shells of human beings.

A lot of people claim this girl's imagination is what protected her and made her "bounceable". I would really like to know how. Her fucked up imaginings were even creepier than what was really going on. If she had followed in the footsteps of her insane perverted bitchy neighbor and started having sex with her father's corpse could that be seen as acceptable and "innocence conquering all"?

Terry Gilliam, thank you for this film. it is one of the best thing of my life that i ever seen. when people are interested in me i always tell them if you want to understand me watch Tideland it is a movie about me. When i first saw it i was so shocked becuse i see this world from her eyes. And it is awful becuse she is a child and i am already a young woman. But in any way thank for this innocence and confessions that you share with us by this great movie!!!
