The only public figure I know of who truly BELIEVES what the Bible says is Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church. And he is truly repulsive!

But didn't Jesus follow the rules of the old testament as a good galilean jew who followed his fathers laws? Should you not follow the example of Jesus? Plus what you are suggesting violates Sola Scriptura which is the very foundational docturne of protestantism.

"We're talking about someone who rejects historical records" _ There may be claimed contemporaries of jesus, but no contemporary evidence. The gospels themselves were written long after he supposedly existed(making them non contemporary)
